Tennis - current odds and success rate of players
Success as a favorite / outsider + success against top 50 players
In this example, using the filter in the Offer window, we will show the success of both opponents in the role of favorite and outsider, as well as the success against top 50 players from the ATP / WTA rankings.
The analysis will be calculated from the period specified in the filter settings. In this case, we will take into account matches from the previous year. So, in the Settings section, the value for the item How many days to balance before the match will be 365.
In the Settings section, the Perform analysis across competitions item will also be active. If it were not active, then the success of the matches would be calculated only from the previous matches of the current tournament (which is always 100% in tennis, if the player has already played a match in the tournament).
For tennis, we will also activate the item Favorite gates as HOME. This will guarantee that the player with the lower posted odds will be listed first, i.e. as the house player. If the listed course is not available, then the ranking on the ATP/WTA ranking is decisive.
In the Tennis section, we will use the Results - home and Results - away sections to calculate success against opponents from the top 50 ATP/WTA rankings. The ranking is specified to be in the range of 1 to 50, there is no limit on the number of wins or losses, and the statistics are specified to be calculated from the last 52 weeks.
The Favorite / Outsider filter section offers a calculation of the success of players in the role of odds favorite / outsider of the match. There is a limit when a player is marked as a favorite / outsider. There is also a condition for the number of matches that the player has at least played with the favorite / outsider designation. For each Home / Away Favorite / Outsider calculation, a minimum success rate can be determined - if it is determined and the required success rate was not achieved by the calculation, then such a match will not be displayed in the Offer window at all.
The created filter looks like this:
In the Filter / Columns window, the values calculated due to the filter settings will be available: wins + losses against players from the top 50 and success of players as favorite and outsider.
But in the Offer window, we would rather see not the number of wins/losses against players from the top 50, but the percentage success rate of both opponents against players from the top 50. We can calculate the success rate using the functions of the Columns window. We will create new items needed for the calculation. First the sum of wins and losses against top 50 players. Then the share of the number of wins and the sum of wins + losses. To obtain percentages, the result of the ratio must be multiplied by one hundred. And finally, we use the INT function to turn the result into an integer.
The Filter / Columns window will look like this:
.. from the calculation of the balance against players from the top 50, the sum of wins and losses will be displayed (the item in the first column is activated) as well as the calculated success percentage.
The Offer window will then look like this:
.. the matches of only one tournament (selected in the left list) are displayed. In the bottom left, it is determined that the displayed odds are the best available odds from bet365, Pinnacle, SBOBET and 188sport.
The calculated success values are color-coded - according to the settings in Filter / Column. If success as a favorite / outsider has a value of -1, then it means that the player has not played any matches as a favorite / outsider. In the case of a balance against players from the top 50, the column with the number of matches played is displayed directly.
The given example illustrates the possibility of comparing the balances of both opponents in the role of favorite / outsider and against players from the top 50. Using the filter settings, it is possible to calculate success only from matches on the selected surface. Or we can supplement the balance of mutual matches. In any case, the displayed information is a suitable aid to complete the situation before the match (even for played matches, the displayed balance is valid for the state before this match).
